As Easy as 1-3-2-6: A Blackjack Betting System Reviewed

Blackjack players naturally play hard to win big money. So it would seem rather odd that one of the strategies that a blackjack player might employ actually involves spending more and more money as the game progresses.

The so-called 1-3-2-6 blackjack betting system works under the principle that a player can win 4 times in succession. It involves increasing one's next bet after their previous bet has won. The player would first make a bet of 1 unit, and then their second bet would be 3 units. Their third bet would be a smaller 2 units, and then their fourth bet shoots up to 6 units.

For instance, a player makes an initial 5 dollar bet, 5 dollars being equivalent to 1 unit in this case. If that bet happens to win, the player then adds 5 more dollars to the 10 dollars that have been won to make a 3 unit bet of 15 dollars. When that bet wins, the player will have won a sum of 30 dollars. The player would then pull back a bit for their third bet, putting up a wager of only 10 dollars. If that bet again turns up a win, an additional 10 dollars is placed with the 20 dollars won for a fourth bet of 30 dollars.

The player would have a full amount of 60 dollars on the table upon winning for a fourth time. After the sequence of 1-3-2-6 bets has been accomplished, the player starts the cycle all over again, betting anew with 5 dollars. Each time player makes a losing bet within a betting cycle, the next bet would always be a 1 unit bet of 5 dollars.

Utilizing the 1-3-2-6 blackjack betting strategy, one is actually putting up only a comparatively small sum of money at stake for an opportunity to win even bigger amounts of money. Even if a player loses a number of times, they can still recoup their losses once they have won 4 times in a single 1-3-2-6 betting cycle.

But then again, one would have to be an extraordinarily good blackjack player in order to win consistently. Even 4 consistent wins are incredible odds. The only real guarantee for winning lies in how good one is in the game, and the 1-3-2-6 system seems to expect one to be quite exceptional.

Despite its apparent advantages, it is usually not advisable to employ the 1-3-2-6 system in a serious blackjack game. A player who uses this strategy needs to have 4 wins in a sequence in order for them to make a profit. One might want to try out the 1-3-2-6 strategy if they are playing for their own amusement, but to try it out in an actual game hoping to win big money can be a risky proposition.
